Wonderful Group of Ladies

So about a week or so ago my best friend, Cassie, said she was going to do a women's bible study up at Hope. I have to admit that I have never been someone to get more involved in church other than just going on Sunday. So I was a little hesitant to go, but I went to the kickoff party last week. It was amazing!!! Lysa Terkeurst was the speaker that night and her new book, Becoming More Than Just A Good Bible Study Girl, was what we would be going over. Last night was the first night of the bible study and it was just wonderful. Cassie, Mrs. Julie, Jennifer, two of Mrs. Julie's friends from high school and I were all in one group and they were putting us in groups of 15, so we needed 9 more ladies!! I have to say that the ladies that are in our group are a hoot!! As one lady said they are trendy fun mom's!! Love it!!! We laughed and some of us teared up (me). I must say that it was a total different experience than I ever thought. SO.... I want to thank the Lord for bringing Cassie into my life. We have become such good friends and I would not trade her for anything. Never thought that I would say that after meeting her in A&P class several years ago. Thank you Lord for the lovely ladies in our group. I think we will all become very close. I know that this is just the beginning of many wonderful things in my life. Thank you Sandra

So Sad

I don't even know where to start, but that the earthquake in Haiti is devastating. How is it right that they live at or below the poverty level are having to deal with this horrible situation. I have been watching the news and it is bringing me to tears!! I know that we are to never question God for situations or circumstances, but how is this fair? They live in such devastation and now this. The only thing that I know to do is to pray, pray, pray. I can not imagine what the haitian people are going through!! Please pray for them and be thankful for everyone and everything that The Lord has blessed you with

Be joyful always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus

It Has Been Long Time

So I think it has been almost a year maybe since I did a post. I thought that after I graduated I would have all the free time in the world but that was not the case. And not to mention I am not the best at this blogging thing. So I am going to try to start back :)

Well I guess I will get yall all up to date on what has been going on in my life. So I graduated last April super excited to go into Radiation Therapy, but there were no jobs in the Memphis area. So I stayed at LeBonheur with all my wonderful friends until September when I got a phone call from...... St. Jude!! I was sooo excited. They wanted me to come work for one of the therapist who was on maternity leave. I could hardly contain myself when I started. I worked there till December 31st when I had to sign my paperwork and turn in my parking tag and badge. I was so sad, I kept it together though. I just felt like that was were I was suppose to be and when nothing came of it long term, I have to say it SUCKED!! So maybe that is not His plan for me. So for now I am a housewife :) I have been looking at some of the hospitals here and some have PRN jobs and I have sent my resume to all of them. I love what I do and can't wait to be able to get back to my patients that make me smile everyday no matter what kind of day I am having.

Being home thought has allowed me to clean the house better than I think it has ever been cleaned!! I mean blinds vacuumed, baseboards cleaned and fans dusted!! Wow!! It has kept me busy. I have also signed up to do the Nashville Country Music Half Marathon with my friend Bethany. I can't wait till April, a fun girls weekend in Nashville!! I have been sticking to my running plan and working out. I want to beat my time from my first half marathon, it was 2 hrs 34min and 17sec. I am hoping to do this one in 2hrs 30mins or less. I also joined the Memphis Runner's group and am doing the Winter Cross Country Series with Cullene and some of her work friends. We did our first 3k trail run Sunday at Overton Park. The next few are at Stanky Creek in Bartlett and I have heard they are pretty intense. It will be a nice challenge though. Well I am going to sign off now. Have a wonderful day

Surreal

So last Wednesday was my last day of school, EVER!!! It almost feels like that day was never going to be here, but it finally came. Getting up that day I realized that that was probably the last time that I would enter the St. Francis Radiation Therapy Dept. It was kind of sad :( Emily and I were at the same clinical site so we decided to go to lunch. It was so good, FireHouse Subs!! YUMMM! Then of course we went out for celebration drinks at Brookhaven. The weather was so pretty Wednesday so we sat on the patio. Jessica also joined us in the festivities :) From there the night continued. After a stop by the store we went back to my house and helped Cliff and Evan with the patio. I will post pics of it soon. Then we went to The Sports Pub!! Yea, I am getting old cause I felt like poop the next day. But hey we had to celebrate. So the big graduation day is April 16!! I will have my bachelors degree in RT, very exciting. Well that is all for now, I have to get back to work.

Might as well...

Ok so I figured since I am about to graduate I might as well do a blog spot!! I will have time to update it since I won't have school stuff to do!! :) I will figure this thing out and get some pictures and stuff on here. So yes, I am about to graduate from Baptist College of Health Sciences with my degree in Radiation Therapy. I will be administering the radiation treatments to cancer patients. I love it and can't wait to have a job in an oncology department. The big day is the 16th of April, but the big party will be once I get a job!
